Proposed Front Elevation
The existing house was built in the 1920′s and sits on a corner lot on a typical suburban street. The house is fairly original and consists of approximately 2200 SF, with a small kitchen, dining room, living room, sun room & 5 (small) bedrooms.
The goal was to add a small first floor addition to create a bigger kitchen, breakfast area, mud room & bathroom. A second story addition was also created above the flat-roofed sun room which allowed for the creation of a master bathroom and closets.
From the street, the house is hidden by the landscaping; the first order of business was to remove the overgrown shrubs that screen the house. A front porch is added which greatly improves the curb appeal of the house, along with new siding, roofing, trim & shutters.
