Remodeled ranch in Eastchester, NY

Posted in Blog, Under Construction    |    Comments Off

Proposed Front Elevation

The existing house is a dated ranch built in the 1950′s, “modernized” sometime later with aluminum siding & trim. The current owner grew up in the house & was moving back in, but the house was in needed of being enlarged & brought up to date. A small addition is being planned to the rear of the house, which allows for a larger kitchen/breakfast area along with a family room. The entry has been redesigned, with the new dining room taking the place of the current living room.

The second story addition is being planned above the garage, consisting of a master bedroom suite. The center section of the house will get converted to a sitting room & laundry room.

Proposed Front Elevation

The existing house is a small non-descript house on a small lot, which drops off sharply to the rear yard which abuts a pond. The existing garage is to be removed, which allows a 2 story addition to be built in it’s place. The addition consists of a 2 car garage on the first floor, a master bedroom suite above & a game room below.

The first floor of the house is to be remodeled, with a redesigned kitchen and 2 additions; one which enlarges the entry & another which creates a powder room.

The owner (of Irish descent) loves Tudor houses, so the propsoed design incorporates many Tudor Style elements: stucco walls with half-timbering, brick veneer, stone quoins & arches.
