A Ranch Converted to a Colonial Home Design in NY by DeMotte Architects
The existing house was a dated ranch, owned by a growing family in need of more space. The solution… build a second story addition & move all the bedrooms upstairs, freeing up space on the first floor for additional living space. The brick veneer was removed and replaced by cedar clapboard siding, complemented with wood paneled shutters. A canopy above the garage door is supported by decorative brackets, which breaks up the massing of one of the front facing gable roofs.
